Who runs it

BraceframeAudit is run by Braceframe Web. We build websites for UK roofing companies, and we use this bot to see how a company's existing website works on a phone before we offer to build a better one. Contact: hello@braceframe.co.uk.

What it does

• It loads a site's home page and up to nine pages linked from it, one at a time, with a second between requests, as a phone-sized browser would.
• It measures the layout at a 360-pixel screen, whether the page is served over HTTPS, how heavy the page is, and whether the phone number can be tapped to call.
• It reads what the business has published about itself: its phone number, address, company number and the services it lists.
• It submits no forms, logs in to nothing, and probes nothing. It visits a site once, and again only if the first visit could not reach it.

How to keep it out

It obeys robots.txt, including rules written for its own name. To keep it away from a whole site, add:

User-agent: BraceframeAudit
Disallow: /
